Ford Debuts the Electric F-150

Late to the electric game and widely seen as abandoning the passenger car market to concentrate on truck manufacturing, Ford this week revealed that it intends to compete hard in the EV market.

The company known for bragging that it builds a new F-150 every 53 seconds has made it clear that it will soon be an EV force to be reckoned with, selling an electric version of its iconic pick-up.

The statement was made with a remarkable video showing an electric prototype of the F-150 towing over one million pounds of cargo without breaking a sweat.

The video came with an additional announcement that Ford’s European built utility truck, the Transit Custom, will be available there this Fall, and a promise that the fully electric Mustang, a Ford SUV as well as a Ford branded charging network will soon follow.
