Tesla Q1 Beats Delivery Estimates

Despite a contracting global economy, reduction of staff to meet social distancing regulations and transitioning facilities to produce medical ventilators, Tesla still beat industry estimates of the number of cars it would be able to deliver in the first three months of 2020.

While automotive experts had predicted 77,000 vehicle deliveries, Tesla put 88,400 new cars in the hands of their new owners. Total vehicles produced by the company in Q1 totaled 102,672.

Tesla cautioned that their delivery count should be viewed as slightly conservative, as cars are only counted “as delivered” if they are transferred to the customer with all paperwork is correct. Final numbers could show an increase of up to 0.5% or more.
