Westshore RCMP Goes Electric

Westshore RCMP took to the Tesla Service Centre podium to announce the acquisition of both a Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E to their patrol fleet.
This marks the first time the RCMP will use a Tesla or a Mustang Mach-E in an active policing role.
These vehicles are the first for the National police force and a direct result of a tireless effort led by VicEVA Board member Glenn Garry holding EV seminars for the detachment over the last year.

Speeding on the Malahat will soon become impossible to get away with. And we understand at least two more South Island Municipal law enforcement jurisdictions will soon be following the RCMP lead, saving their citizens tens of thousands of tax dollars over the life of the vehicles.
The detachment is currently installing EV chargers on-site.
