ROYALS TICKETS ARE SELLING LIKE NEW EVS

The Leaf Club/Victoria Royals Event is getting bigger every day. As you can see from the photo above, Fred has convinced one of Victoria’s leading citizens, Marty Marmot, mascot of the Victoria Royals, to join the EV revolution.

Marty also directed Fred and his Nissan Leaf onto the Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena ice this morning to rehearse the exciting on-ice parade of electric cars that will highlight the evening.

Participation with the appearance of 2014 models from all local EV dealerships is now confirmed with some exciting prizes for those attending the event that will be announced shortly. Local businesses supporting the EV and environmental community are already buying private boxes and seats of their own. On top of that, EVs are coming from all over the Island, the lower mainland and even internationally to encircle the arena on game night.

Fred and I also had a meeting yesterday with the BC Ministry of Energy, who will be a significant presence at the evening and are bringing EV supporters from several government departments with them. It’s all part of their efforts (and ours) to raise public awareness of how much different (and better) an EV friendly world will be.

If you haven’t already purchased tickets in the special section set aside for EV owners and their friends, get your orders in on the Leaf Club website as soon as you can. We’ll be able to continue to offer our discounted $12 rate for anyone buying tickets from us but we’d like to accommodate as many VLC members and friends as possible in our reserved section of the arena.

So buy your tickets now. And remember that they also make excellent Christmas gifts. Any tickets purchased up until noon Christmas Eve will be hand delivered within the Greater Victoria area in time for Christmas.

This is shaping up to be a far larger and more exciting event than even we had envisioned in the first place. You don’t want to miss it!
