On January 31, 2014, The Victoria Royals WHL hockey club will host the Vancouver Giants at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena in Victoria on a night celebrating “The Return of the Electric Car”. The arena concourse will be filled with brand new 2014 electric cars courtesy several manufacturers and dealerships. There will also be exhibitors promoting the ease of owning and operating electric vehicles, including the vendors of charging stations, solar panels and EV apps. Videos of the latest innovations in electric cars will be featured on the arena Jumbotron throughout the game and the Royals will be awarding a special “Most Electrifying Player of the Game” prize.
In addition, several EV dealers and vendors will be offering in-game prizes to fans in attendance, doing all they can to increase the awareness of the benefits of owning an electric car.
The event will have a high media profile, so it’s up to VLC Members to do all we can to make this night a great success. And we can do that best by making sure the arena’s 7000 seats are full.
Royals tickets are normally $15. But the VLC has negotiated a special rate on any tickets we purchase for ourselves or buy to gift or sell to our friends, families and those we think will enjoy a night out to celebrate the environmental importance of the electric car. We also need you to place your orders as soon as you can to show our sponsors that we’re as committed to this event as they are. And to make sure we all get to sit together.
Tickets purchased through the Club are $12 each with $2 of that price retained by the Club to fund future events.

If you’ve ever been to a Royals game, you’ll know it’s a great family atmosphere featuring many players who’ll be in the NHL next season. But “The Return of the Electric Car” will also give you a chance to see some of the new EVs and support options for yourselves. We can promise a good time will be had by all — and that thousands of Victorians will go home knowing that the Electric Car has finally arrived.
