Urban Mobility Showcase A Major Success
The Victoria EV Club was a key part of last week’s Urban Mobility Expo held on Victoria’s Centennial Square for the benefit of members of Infrastructure Canada in the hope of gaining $10 Million in funding for local electrified transportation.
Joining us at the South Island Prosperity Project sponsored event were a myriad of new electric vehicles including three different kinds of buses, an EV garbage truck, electric car share vehicles and countless electric bicycles, tri-cycles, Segways and dirt and trail motorcycles — not to mention an electric Ferry boat.
Throughout the day, VEVC members engaged with Infrastructure Canada, local politicians and members of the public, not only advising them on the virtues of zero-emission vehicles and the need to improve charging access to condo and apartment dwellers, but putting many of them in an EV for the first time and a ride through downtown Victoria.
Pictures of the event below were provided by Glenn Garry, while Manfred Wissemann shot the video interview with the Ferry Boat Operator.
