Tesla Unveils the Model Y

Last night, a clearly ebullient Elon Musk expanded the Tesla fleet by introducing the much anticipated “Model Y”.

The seventh vehicle to be produced by the company in its eleven year life is an electric compact SUV with a 300 mile range and 7 passenger capacity.

Built on the proven Model 3 platform, the significantly taller Model Y with its additional flared fender width offers 66 cubic feet of cargo capacity as well as a panoramic glass roof that extends through the vehicle’s hatchback.

Tesla will be rolling out four subsets of the Model Y (standard, long range, dual motor AWD and performance) with the performance model featuring 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and a 0.23 drag co-efficient.

Prices range from $39,000 (US) for the standard model to $60,000 (US) for the performance addition. Deliveries will begin in the Fall of 2020 and you can place your order now by clicking the buttons here.
