Standard Charging Payment System On The Horizon

You may soon be able to set that collection of branded EV charge cards, apps and key-fobs aside as the Canadian Federal Government moves forward with a plan to standardize the payment system.

Financed by a $2 Million investment from the Green Infrastructure Program, Quebec’s Mogile Technologies is developing two new charging initiatives.

The first will create a single payment account that all charging stations across Canada can accept, making it easier for people to charge their vehicles.

The second is intended to help power companies better predict how much energy these stations require on an hourly basis. This would be accomplished by tracking how much power the stations use during peak consumption times and making sure it has a reliable supply available.
