Porsche Taycan Arrives in Canada

Yesterday, Porsche unveiled its first all-electric car to be available in Canada. Built for the high-end performance market, the Taycan delivers a range of 450 km and top speeds of 260 km/h — for Canadian prices of $150,000 for the Turbo version and $180,000 for the Turbo S.

The basic Taycan specs are as follows:

• up to 450 km (280 miles)
• 93.4 kWh battery pack
• 270 kW peak charge rate
• 265 kW regenerative braking capacity
• Two-speed transmission
• 2.8 seconds 0-100 km/h (62 mph)
• Top track speed of 260 km/h (162 mph)
• Peak power 560 kW (761 PS)
• 1,050 NM torque

The vehicle’s plush interior design also limits physical buttons and switches in the car by way of multiple touch screens and the ability to accept voice commands.
