Porsche Doubles Taycan Production

Porsche initially chose to dip its toes into the EV market by manufacturing an initial run of 20,000 units of its sporty new Taycan.

However, by the time the company arrived at the Geneva Motor Show this week, all 20,000 of those vehicles had been pre-ordered by eager European customers.

So Porsche has decided to double it’s 2019 production of the Taycan to 40,000 vehicles.

Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG, said, “The overwhelming interest in the Taycan shows us that our customers and fans are as excited about the first Porsche electric as we are – and we’ve therefore increased our production capacities. The Taycan will be the most sporty and most technically advanced vehicle in its segment – a true Porsche.”
