Of Local Interest — Week of December 16

The Petro-Canada DCFC Chargers at Sayward and the Pat Bay Highway get their official media launch this week. Full availability to the public and cost to charge will be revealed at that time.

As with every Christmas season, malls and parking lots are jammed and that means public chargers situated there will also be heavily used as well as occasionally impeded by people just desperate for a parking spot. Your options are only doing your best to charge at home or during non-shopping hours. Try to maintain the spirit of the season and take comfort in the knowledge that this too shall pass as more infrastructure comes online.

We’ve been getting a lot of emails from both club members and ICE drivers about various EVs – and a white Tesla in Gordon Head in particular – driving erratically, zooming through occupied crosswalks and even travelling at night without lights. Not much we (or anybody else) can do without a license number. But if you have information on any of these drivers, please let us know. The EV community is still small and some in the media are more than eager to jump on any negative stories about us.
