We need more Chargers in Saanich and Victoria public parkades!

My LEAF put on a lot of kilometres today and I needed a charge. Not to worry, I thought, the Gordon Head Recreation Centre in Saanich has 2 – J1772 chargers. I thought wrong. Both the chargers at the rec centre were in use. I think it is time for Saanich to provide more charging as large numbers of electric cars sold by our dealers increase demands daily for new stations. Find a video below showing our situation.

We will not have to add more parking spaces for gas cars. That makes no sense, since we are in the process of phasing our ICE (internal combustion engine) cars world-wide.  Already the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Quebec and 8 US states (California, New York, Connecticut, Oregon, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont) have pledged to sell only electric cars.

Please send in your EV or solar energy videos so we may post them under our VEVC label on YouTube.  Also any newsworthy story concerning sustainable energy. Thanks to Jim Henshaw, Film Maker for helping me improve my videos!

Thank you,
Fred Wissemann, VEVC President

Today at Gordon Head Recreation Centre:  3 all-electric cars, only 2 charging stations.
