ECO-Night a Huge Success
The Victoria EV Club’s 8th Annual ECO-Night is in the books, universally recognized as a huge success. More electric vehicles than ever before outside the arena, circling the concourse and on the ice. Great displays by local environmental groups, a charming give-away to the thousands in attendance and some big contest winners.
Both the VEVC and Tesla Vancouver (Park Royal) gave away exquisitely detailed scale models of the Tesla Roadster and Model S along with 24 hours in a Tesla while Motorize and KIA Victoria collected names from fans who became eligible for a full week in one of their cars.
The VEVC 50/50 draw not only netted $4650 for the club’s upcoming activities, but the night’s draw winner turned out to be one very happy VEVC Member attending his first WHL hockey game.
But maybe not as thrilled as Tesla owner Joan Wells, who celebrated her 92nd birthday by taking a ride on the Zamboni.
And the icing on the cake — The home team won!
Our thanks to the 40 member volunteers who assisted on the night as well as the Victoria Royals Hockey Club for hosting this event with us. And a special thanks to their reps, Brett Halpenny and Robin White, for making the night go off without a hitch.
We know the members in attendance had a great time. And we hope those of you who couldn’t make it will circle the calendar when this night of family fun rolls around next year.
