Drive Electric Victoria – EVs needed!
Lisa Locke, VEVC Editor
August 7, 2017
VEVC Member and fellow EV owner Jeremy Janzen is organizing the Victoria portion of National Drive Electric Week. This is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability and benefits of all-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles and are better for the environment. This is an opportunity to share your experiences with others considering going electric.
VEVC President James Locke and I and our family will be attending and we wanted to put the word out there for others who may be interested. A message from Jeremy follows:
We are asking EV owners to participate in Drive Electric Week’s 4th annual Victoria event. Bring your car and offer rides or test drives – your choice – to the public! If you can’t attend for the entire time we’d love to have you for only part of the time.
Instead of a “Show and Tell” this is more a “Show and Feel” where members of the public can ride in an EV on a short route, so they can actually get a visceral feeling how much better an EV is over the typical fossil fuel vehicle. And any questions can be answered honestly with no sales pitch.
- Sunday Sept 17, 2017,11 am – 3 pm, at Central Middle School, 1280 Fort Street, Victoria. (Map)
- Educational event, not a sales event
- Owners who offer test drives will be in the front passenger seat
- Test drivers must be 25+ yrs old, submit their drivers license and sign a waiver.
