The Workhorse Arrives

Ohio-based EV manufacturer Workhorse began production this week on its NGEN-1000 all-electric delivery van with the intention of producing 2000 vehicles by the end of the year.

Many of those will go directly to UPS, who have ordered 1000 of the vans as part of their electrification process.

The NGEN-1000 has a range of up to 100 miles (160 km) on a single charge, which should service most delivery routes. It also has a 3 ton cargo capacity and in four cargo configurations: 250, 450, 700 and 1,000 cubic feet.

Stephen S. Burns, CEO of Workhorse, commented: “We are proud to say – the future is here. With an off-the-lot cost on par with traditional fuel delivery vehicles, and substantial savings from there, we believe the NGEN will forever change the business of delivery as we know it.”
