LIDAR Spotted on Audi A8 in the Wild

While in Portland, Oregon this week, we spotted an Audi A8 with Michigan plates outfitted with LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) on the roof rack and what looks to be more sensors in the front grille. There was heavy snowfall the previous day followed by melting then freezing temperatures, but that didn’t stop the driver from venturing out onto the sideroads near the airport where we spotted them.  Soon after I started taking photos the car turned onto another street.
