PHEV Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle | Victoria and Area | Forum

Hello: We are ready to purchase and have talked with some of you. We ordered a Tesla 3 but don't want to wait for it. We are now looking into alternatives. We do mostly in town driving but want to be able to drive to the top of the Island pulling a small trailer with kayaks. We are considering the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Comments? Apparently it comes in hybrid and all electric plug-in (?) What about the Toyota PHEV Prius? Suggestions of others to consider in that price range, battery power, etc. Thanks for any help you can give us.

Hi...I was considering that vehicle myself last spring, but there were none yet available in Canada, and as they'd been promised already for several years, I thought they might never make it here....Now I've heard that they finally will be coming soon though. For me it's a case of too little too late as I bought a '17 Chevy Volt PHEV in May. The only thing is it doesn't have all wheel drive and not a SUV form like the Mitsubishi, but it's an amazing vehicle that I use as an EV about 90% of the time and it has a gas generator so there's absolutely no range anxiety. I understand that the Mitsubishi Outlander is a big seller in the UK though. There's a Youtube review of it by the Aussie guy...search for AutoExpert on there and the Outlander...He didn't like it much but then again he's rather down on all EVs so far so just check him out for entertainment value.
